Qualified Critical Thinker

To whom it may concern:

Thank you for taking the time to read over my cover letter and reading over my website. I believe I would be a great match for any position you have available for me. My qualifications for any position are that I am a hard worker, optimistic, outgoing and willing to help when needed, no matter the situation. I have a vast knowledge on various networking and computer type situations. I have three degrees in the IT field, and also I am available to get any certifications that might be required for the position. Below is some information about my current and previous jobs, and information on my degrees I attained from OSU-Okmulgee. I hope the information is helpful, and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Currently, I am a System Administrator for EDS mainly supporting the Sabre Corporation. I would like the opportunity to change my job scenery for the better.

After graduating from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor in Information Assurance and Forensic in 2007, I went to work for EDS in Tulsa, Oklahoma. EDS is Electronic Data Systems based in Texas, supporting travel agencies in the world as related to travel airports, websites and hotels. Tulsa is the central data center hub for EDS. My position at EDS is called MRC, supporting the server health, applications and connections from clients such as VPN, virtual private networks. When major problems occur bridge calls are initiated with the teams.
We fix problems such as fixing OS and database issues, we work with application teams and a CSR’s to see how much damage the outage is causing. Within these short calls, millions of dollars has a threat of being lost. This requires quick thinking and teamwork from all team players to make this system successful. With this 24/7, company there is a need for a night shift. I am a night shift System Administrator. I have been there over a year. They are starting to outsource their staff since they recently merged with HP and I unfortunately my position is moving overseas.

During my previous job, I worked at OSU-Okmulgee through the work-study program, and performed my internship there. I re-imaged classrooms with the latest patches and any software requests from the teachers. I used a hardware called, “Centurion Guard”. It keeps unwanted data from being installed by keeping the computer at a locked state from when it was setup. In addition, I also ran diagnostics on computers and replaced the parts of the server.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. If you feel, I am qualified for any position; I can assure you I will not let you down. I am resourceful, productive, and dependable for my age. I believe I would be a great asset to your company and look forward to possibly working with you.
Sincerely,
Nick Farrow
